SKALES – Dat One Dey (Niggaz in Paris Freestyle)

Black: EME Rapper, Skales dropped this hot freestyle, from the original version by Jay-z and Kanye west. It’s a really dope beat and i think Skales did a very good job on the freestyle; I loved the flexibility and creativity. ‘These niggaz say I’m bleaching, you must be out’ your mind suffering from too much freshness my attitude we design’. Kyos, what’s up?

Kyos: I concur with you Black, not disputing the fact that its a crazy beat but i still want to believe that Skales did not give this ‘sick’ beat his best, he could have gone harder. Overall, it’s not a bad freestyle.

Rico SlimRico Slim, he had a record with Samklef titled DREAMS… He’s back with this
special soft tune in this season of love, Still a record dedicated to ladies,
he sure let his feelings known on this record. @Truth this song ain’t got the
metaphors and all but more of his real feeling. Good job R.I.C… Ladies…Enjoy!

Truth: Well, its not a bad track. I mean
its got a sweet melody and the whole vibe of romance around it. But, I feel the
emphasis of the song is laid too much on how “fine” the girl is and
we all know true love is way more than just being fine. So I still believe the
ladies will enjoy this: not because the lyrics will make them feel good, but
because of the melody and production.

Black: This has to be the 1st Record put

Lamitogether by lovely ladies this year. @Truth..Mo’cheddah laced this track up
Bruh (I Bet she’s got a bright future even after leaving knighthouse)…’Dancefloor two step while I do my Windeck, got my head spinning like the rims on a Lex’…Her intro was on point as well. Kel..Really did good but I think Mo’cheddah had hotter bars than her. Generally, It’s a really lovely record, loved the
dimension and diversity on this song.

Truth: Mehn!! Black,  this track should be so much more than it is!!!! It has so much energy and the rap verses just didn’t meet up to the energy chorus and the feel of the song generally. As far as I’m concerned, the
best verse is the one where Lami sings which suggests that perhaps she should
have just brought female vocalists on this track – just imagine Waje, Tiwa & Omawunmi on this!!! I’d suggest a male version with M.I., Ice Berg Slim, Ice Prince & Eldee….that would be a classic. Sorry to say, but the ladies just didn’t pack enough “punch” & energy in their verses. Check “Shano” by Terry & Pope and see how they ride the beat. Thatsaid, I still love the chorus and the whole feel of the song.

Black: Ruggedy Baba drops this new record and it’s supposedly
a song for this season of love. @Truth I think he should know better from his
wealth of experience about making love songs:  I think the beat wasn’t niceee for the song and his delivery wasn’t on point, besides I still can’t feel the Aura of Love
in this record. Rugged Man, Ladies wanna hear something they could mime along
with. Anyways, it’s a new Song.

Truth: Lol…ah ah. Black you’re not happy oh! Anyways, I agree with most of what you’ve said.Although I think the chorus isn’t so bad: kinda reminds me of when Ja Rule use to make those love songs where he sings in the chorus. Plus the flutes on the
chorus were not a bad addition to the beat. And yeah, delivery was average but
the lyrics were just funny  “Your name I’ll keep reciting like the national anthem” or “even if you be bullet, I no go dodge you”- really funny. Please just download and let us know your thoughts. Plus does anyone hear a bit of Ice Prince and Olamide in this song?  Listen closely. And how do you feel about Rugged Man singing? Please share in the comments below.

Black: Adey Featuring Tiwa Savage – Beremole…With this new
single, you just wanna shake your body and bend down low as well. ‘Lovely tune’
I must say. You just wanna get down low with your ‘Baby’, ‘Sweetheart’ with
this song ‘Oya Oya Beremole o(x3) Komole my Baby’ lol…Tiwa lightened the song
up with her lovely voice as well. Good Job Adey.

Beremole - Adey Ft. Tiwa Savage

Truth: No doubt the tune is nice but its like the song ends at Tiwa’s verse because all I hear till the end of the song is Adey saying either “Beremole” or “I’ll follow you” and frankly, I got tired of “following him” at some point in the song. This track would have been perfect if it had more content: I believe the tune was good enough to allow for nice lines and great bridges. Tiwa was nice, but her dropping just four lines felt like she was just passing by and Adey said: “please now, just say something”. Anyways, you’ll love the song initially but you’ll most likely get tired at the middle. Download and let us know your thoughts.

M. I. Releases New Jam – Seven Days (Download Now)

Black: M.I Abaga drops a new single after a li’l break and its not even on  the highly anticipated mixtape “Illegal Music2″ as confirmed by Mr. Abaga: its just for the Valentine’s season I guess.  @Truth, this record ain’t the typical M.I record you wanna floss along with at least for the rap heads, it’s got the dancehall rhythm as well as a Valentine feel. Love is in the air though. ’If you must go, then you m ust gobuh you leave my world cold MOSCOW’.

Truth: I’m with you on this one Black. The song has the vibe of “Forever” off his first album -don’t know if you can recall it. M. I. shows a very artistic and romantic side on this. So please rap heads, don’t hold your breath. He dropped a few gems though; with lines like “I’ll miss u like a typo”….still amazes me how he thinks up tight lines consistently. But then again its Mr. Incredible so we’d expect nothing less. Good song but the approach is getting formulaic.

Airis Stages Comeback – Drops “Olowo Ori Mi”

Black: AIRIS is back… Yaaa’aay, this beautiful lady, I
think just at the right time returned with a new single titled ‘Olowo Ori mi’
which means ‘The Owner of my Life’. Her silence after her hit record ‘Without
You’ in 2010 made peeps believe she couldn’t deliver as such, but this record
right here sets the mood in this season of love.

SCORE: 3.5/5

Truth: I couldn’t agree more Black. This is a great song – the chorus is almost flawless, delivery on point and the tempo is just right! I could listen to this joint all day. Can’t wait till she drops an album. The song has one minor setback in its lyrics though….no I’m not telling because I’m saving the line for my next 10 Most Disappointing Lyrics article (“grins and chuckles”). That takes nothing away from the song though.

Black : L.O.S bubbling with two new tracks to start this
year ‘On Fire + Bad Guy P’.Truth, hope you still remember them from last year
with the hit record titled ‘Magic’ Featuring Shank. ‘On Fire’ has got this
‘Wind of Newness’ which actually depicts a transformation in their music.
Basically ‘On Fire’ is a club banger, you know that ‘Set the roof on fire kinda
Jam’. But it’s a cool record though.

Black: Solid Star doing his thing on this record.. It’s titled ‘I Don Show’. What I Love about this song right here is the hook. It’s catchy and has got a very nice rhythm and I like the fact he had some Yoruba slangs in it which kinda made it a complete recipe for the dancefloor. ‘Owo wa Repete Repete, Mukulu Mukulu mu keke’

Score: 4/5

Truth:  “Yawns”………another commercial single. Don’t get me wrong: its quite catchy and will definitely move people on the dance floor. However, nothing to lyrically write home about. Well, let’s dance on then…..”Ayiyelele”
