2Face – My Rainbow

PREACH:  Fresh joint from 2baba (African’s biggest export after crude oil). This dude is like the only artiste that we would patiently wait a year for the release of his record because when he finally does, he never disappoints. This joint is definitely for Annie Macaulay (his legit wife to be) no doubt and the lyrics justifies that. Triple thumbs up 2face, quality production credit to the “unknown producer”. “You can take anything else away from 2face but you can never take away his amazing voice and the new single is just a proof that 2baba is never going down. Listen and share your thoughts.

KYOS: One of naija’s top ‘undisputed vocalist’ has dropped another soothing love track which guys could use to serenade their ladies. You know that feeling when you honestly know that a track is top notch but still doesn’t appeal to you, well, that’s how i feel. I know it’s a nice track but hey, it aint compulsory i like ‘em all. Enjoy people.

Kid Blaize – For your Head Ft. D-Gates

BLACK: iRepGoodmusic presents its finest, Kid Blaize featuring our very own D-Gates. ‘For your head’, this record is dedicated to all Lovely ladies out there. It’s more about confessing that love to your sweet heart, about your hardwork and sweat being all about her. D-Gates killed this song, the chorus and bridge were fire, and he’s got a voice to die for too. Kid Blaize’s verses were aii too, but I think D-Gates deserves more credit for lacing the most important recipe for a song. Haze on the Beat and it was ill. Having both Kid Blaize and D-Gates on a record feels good as well, still looking forward to D-Gates making more songs. Good job Guys. Listen and Enjoy! *My Naira and kobo for your head, all the kids I got na for your head*

A-Q – Mo ti Lo (I’m so Gone) Ft. BB

BLACK: A-Q teamed up with Upcoming singer BB, it’s a lovely record. Mo ti Lo is his second single on the G.I.L.B.E.R.T album. Firstly, BB sounded a lot like Wizkid, although he tried carving his own style from Wizzy’s style, but could still hear Wizkid on the chorus. A-Q’s verses were not bad as well, he’s a rapper for the dance floor, so we ain’t gonna dwell on his bars or punch lines, it’s just the feel good rap. The production’s superb, love the beat. I prefer this record to Champagne and Rum though. Good job BB with the chorus. Listen and Enjoy!

SCORE: 3/5

PREACH: A-Q (Another question) does a nice job for me on this track but it could have been better. I don’t agree that this is a song for the dance floor and neither is A-Q. He is a rapper who is nice with the flow but sick with his lyrics and he aint afraid to say whatever is on his mind at any point. Go listen to GINGA ft Vector, Terry tha Rapman, et al and you would know what I am talking about. Nice beat and production though, average from Up-comer BB. “Yall need money ama lend you, and I no fit shout  Mo Gentle/ woo to the evil that men do, I do want I can and meant to/ Illuminati flow I bend to, now its back to the basics I sent you…”

Naeto C – Tony Montana

BLACK: Cerious Music in affiliation with Storm records presents this new single titled, Tony Montana. It’s officially a record for the dance floor and with this record all i can depict is Naeto’s versatility and consistency. The Cerious music boss is clearly building an empire with his label and I forsee him carving this Niche out of Storm Records. Who or What can be badder than Tony Montana? Naeto’s saying that on this record and i totally agree with him. Basically, it talks about his Class & Money. The dance floor ain’t ready for Naeto C. Good job Naeto C. Listen and Enjoy!

SCORE: 3.5/5

KYOS: Hearing this track the first time actually didn’t appeal to me at    all, but leaving it on repeat actually made it a bit compelling. It’s something i could bump to but not really for a long while because it wasn’t all that for me, but hey what’s my review to that of the general public. Naeto i know you can do better, but still nice job bruv. Download & let’s hear your thoughts.

X.O Senavoe – Moment For Life Is A Corpse ft. D-Black

PREACH: If you don’t know X.O Senavoe by now, then you is sleeping because he was the only upcoming act to feature on the B.E.T cypher 2011 naija. Well, X.O Senavoe and D-black go in on Nicki’s Moment For Life instrumental and i would say they didn’t disappoint. I really like the way he flows continuously with rhymes like “ahh yo XO keep the mic-on,yh am coming right back..you get it maicon player right back,Inter-milan”. We await his highly anticipated Intro EP “Xpoint0 ” which will be released before his album. Listen and share your thoughts.

SCORE: 2.75/5

KYOS: So all ye hip-hop heads n braids, either ‘bald or shaved’ :D just incase you didn’t know, X.O Senavoe(“they call me who be u?”) is 1 of his kind and certainly a rapper on his own league. ‘West-out’ to D-Black from Ghana, he held it down in this track. Download & listen to the style-change that Senavoe possessed.

Mjeez – OYIBOBO (RELOADED) Ft. Skales

BLACK: Oyibobo was released October 2011, but wasn’t recognized as much as it was expected, but this version is really reloaded as it features Skales on it and Skales’ delivery was point, although he sang as well. The record has got a fine tune, Mjeez is signed to Fahrenheit entertainment, still bubbling under but he is definitely a talent to watch out for this year. Listen and Enjoy!

SCORE: 3.5/5

PREACH: Again,am not impressed with this song. “Oyi-bobo, girl you be the koko……Boko Haram no fit put no ‎bomb between US”. Please nigerian artists should wake up esp our RnB singers.

HanuJay – KOLO Ft. Yung Hanz

BLACK: Tis’ a Jam right here, I guess its cause I’ve always liked Yung Hanz raps, I’m really impressed with his come back on this record. ‘ I wanna stop drinking it’s killing my liver but I’m feeling alive my Demon is high, you’ll know if you look in my identical eye pathetical lie it’s all you can tell and the money is so dirty like it’s all you can smell’ . HanuJay isn’t new to the Naija Music scene as well, he’s been bubbling under for some years, he sings real good as well, Dreybeatz produced this record and I think he sampled Digital girl by The Dream, Kanye West and Drake. Good joint though. Listen and Enjoy!

SCORE: 3.5/5
PREACH: Nothing really wrong with this track except that it’s  a typical mixtape joint. Sample beat, nice flow and lines.
Nothing special.

ICE PRINCE – RUSH HOUR (Freestyle)

BLACK: Chocolate City’s finest Mr. Zamani, drops his first official freestyle this year, Kraftmatics produced this record, the beat’s really nice, top notch production as well. I wasn’t impressed with the freestyle at all, even as a fan of his music, it didn’t just feel right to me, he tried with the punchlines and all, but I guess the stereotyped rhyme just got boring. Listen and enjoy!

SCORE:2.5/5

KYOS: 1)Was this stereotype? Definitely. 2)Did i like it? Yup. 3)Was i expecting more? Nope. 4)Do i think anyone really cares about my opinions? Nope, but i review cause i can :D Overall, not bad but a bit boring Mr. Zamani.
